FE Online Report | Tuesday, 3 November 2015
The High Court (HC) Tuesday stayed the ‘case’ of Chittagong Cement Clinkers & Grinding Company (CCCGC), one of the cases of 1996 stock market scam.
On October 27 last, the Special Tribunal on capital market fixed November 8 for delivering the verdict of the case filed against three accused.
The accused are former CCCGC chairman and managing director Abu Tayab, former Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) President Rakibur Rahman and former DSE director Shahidul Haque Bulbul.
A HC bench comprising Justice Justice Naima Haider and Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam issued the stay order Tuesday following a writ petition filed by one of the accused challenging the section 25 (A) of the Securities and Exchange Ordinance, 1969.
