Ctg double murder key accused held

CHATTOGRAM, April May 3 (BSS): Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested the key accused in a sensational double murder case in Chattorgram from Nolerchar Bazar of Hatia thana under Noakhali district on Friday.
The arrestee identified as Mohammad Hasan, 37, son of Mohammad Alam, and hailing from West Shahid Nagar, Subhan Contractor Bari under the city's Bayezid thana, is one of the accomplices of top terrorist Chhota Sajjad.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Bakalia thana police, arrested Hasan in a drive at Noler char Bazar area around 11:00 PM last night, OC Ikhtiar Uddin of Bakalia thana Station officer-in-charge told the news agency. In the drive, a foreign-made pistol, two magazines and two rounds of bullets were seized from a shopping bag hidden behind the dressing table in his room.
On the night of March 30, assailants on motorcycles opened fire on a private car along a nearly three-kilometre stretch of Bakalia Access Road. Two people, Bakhtiar Hossain Manik and Abdullah Al Rifat, were killed in the attack.
Firoza Begum, mother of Manik filed a murder case with Bakalia Thana on April 1, accusing seven people, including Sajjad and his wife.
