A month-long international trade fair has begun in Chittagong. Minister of Housing and Public Works Engineer Mosharraf Hossain inaugurated the fair at the port city’s Railway Polo Ground on Saturday noon. Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organising the fair in partnership with Thailand. Businesspersons from India, China and Iran are taking part in it. The fair has 38 pavilions and 239 stalls this year. The fair will remain open from 10am to 10pm everyday and its entry fee is Tk 10. Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, who attended the inaugural function of the fair as the chief guest, announced to form a consultation committee to resolve businesspersons’ problems. “The committee will be formed with 26 or 27 members within one or two days,” he said. Apart from the finance minister, several business leaders would be on the committee, the commerce minister added, according to a news agency.
