Ctg land officials suspended for irregularities

State Minister for Land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Jabed has paid a surprise visit to a Chittagong land office and temporarily suspended two land officers and issued order to transfer a peon for their alleged involvement with irregularities and corruption. The state minister also passed an order to arrest two persons including a former Chhatra League leader for digging pond on the land of Land Ministry beside the land office in the port city.  Later, the state minister visited the embankment of Karnaphuli River and ordered to close Marine Pacific Brick Field, set up illegally at Karnaphuli area and arrests its manager. Saifuzzaman Chowdhury suspended assistant land officer Mohammad Joynal, deputy assistant land officer Ratan Kanti Shill temporarily on charges of procrastinating in settlement of cases. Moreover, Anisul Islam, MLSS of Sadarghat land office was issued transfer orders for his involvement with irregularities. The junior minister also issued show-cause notices to them on the same ground. Additional deputy commissioner (revenue) SM Abdul Kader was with the state minister, according to BSS.
