Ctg port gets Tk 4b worth of new equipment

As many as 24 pieces of new equipment worth Tk 4.0 billion have been imported for Chattogram port, reports bdnews24.com..
These include four essential gantry cranes valued at Tk 2.4 billion, six rubber tyred gantry cranes valued at Tk 700 million, four reach stackers, four variable reach trucks, two container movers, two 100-tonne mobile cranes, and two 50-tonne mobile cranes.
State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury inaugurated the equipment on Sunday.
The acquisitions are part of an ongoing project to import 104 pieces of equipment, sourced from countries, such as China, Germany, Finland, Belgium, and France.
The equipment import initiative, taken in 2019 with a budget of Tk 9.1 billion, will see an additional 30 pieces of equipment arrive at the port by December.
