Ctg Press Club celebrates its Golden Jubilee

CHITTAGONG, Dec 13: Golden Jubilee of Chittagong Press Club was celebrated today in a befitting manner in the city.
Adviser for Information to the Prime Minister, also editor of The Daily Observer, Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury was present as the chief guest while Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Mesbah Uddin was the special guest at the programme, presided over by Chittagong Press Club president Ali Abbas.
Chittagong Press Club general secretary Mohsin Chowdhury and president of Chittagong Union of Journalists Ejaz Yusufee delivered addresses of welcome. Joint secretary of the club Mohsin Kazi conducted the programme.
On the occasion, veteran writer Prof Rama Chowdhury was honoured as Gunijan (person of quality) and three journalists - Siddique Ahmed, Iskandar Ali Chowdhury and Pankaj Kumar Dastider - were honoured as Kriti Sangbadik (legendary journalists) for the year 2014.
They were given crests of the Chittagong Press Club and a cheque for Tk 10,000 each.
Pankaj Kumar Dastider of The Financial Express and Masud Parvez Milad of the Prothom Alo were jointly adjudged the best reporters in the print and online media and Ashraf Ullah Rubel of the Prothom Alo and Nupur Kanti Dev of the Kaler Kantha were jointly adjudged the second best reporters.
