Ctg region EPB holds seminar on export policy

CHITTAGONG, Jul 2: The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Chittagong region organised a seminar on 'Export Policy of Bangladesh 2006-2009 and the Assistance Adopted for Enhancing Export and Its Implications' at the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) conference room here today (Monday).
Director of EPB, Chittagong Region Monoj Kumar Roy presided over the seminar while Director General of EPB head office based in Dhaka Faridul Hasan was the chief guest and resource person on the occasion.
The EPB director general, in his address, said specific guidelines had been set for different issues like utility facilities, development of export goods, raw-materials and use of ports meant for the exporters. Besides, necessary steps were being taken for strengthening the country's export base, he added.
He called for availing the facilities and techniques to enhance the volume of export trade.
The EPB director general expressed the hope that the success in country's export trade was inevitable if the export programme was conducted in conformity with the export policy.
In the question-answer session, a lively discussion on the country's export policy was held.
