Ctg WP protests against price hike of essentials

CHATTOGRAM, Mar 19: Workers Party (WP) of Bangladesh Chattogram unit formed a human chain protesting the price hike of essentials and demanded action against the syndicates who are involved with the price spiral.
The WP Chattogram District Committee organised the human chain on the Old Rail Station premises on Friday afternoon. The leaders of the WP said that the businessmen are hiking prices of essentials ahead of Ramadan by forming syndicates. But, the government is doing nothing to control the price hike.
"We demand action against the syndicates which are involved with the price hike," the WP leaders said.
President of WP Chattogram District Committee Advocate Abu Hanif presided over the function. General Secretary Sharif Chouhan, WP leaders Monsur Masud, General Secretary of Sramik Federation Chattogram Committee Didarul Alam Chowdhury and others addressed a rally held after the human chain.
