Ctg\\\'s rail link with rest of country snapped

Rain communications of Chittagong with other parts of the country remained suspended as 3 bogies of a freight train derailed near Fouzdarhat Railway Station in the port city on Wednesday. However, none was inured. East Zone Divisional Railway manager Murad Hossain said 3 bogies of the Chittagong Port bound-goods train from Dhaka veered off the tracks around 10:30am, halting train services on Chittagong-Dhaka, Chittagong-Brahmanbaria and Chittagong-Sylhet routes. Being informed, a salvage trains reached the spot and started work to clear the tracks. Chandpur-bound ‘Meghna Express’ train could not leave Chittagong Railway Station while an inter-city train ‘Karnaphuli Express’ remained stranded near the station, according to a news agency.
