Friday, 28 March 2014

Chittagong's train communications with capital Dhaka and the north-eastern divisional city of Sylhet have been snapped after an express train derailed in Comilla Railway Station. Railways officials say a compartment of Chittagong-bound ‘Jalalabad Express’ train went off the track at Bizupur at around 10:00am on Friday. “The train tilted as four wheels of a compartment were derailed snapping communication on the Dhaka-Chittagong and Chittagong-Sylhet routes,” Comilla Railway Station’s Assistant Executive Engineer Ihsanul Islam said. A relief train would come from Laksham, he said and hoped that rail communication in the important route would resume soon, according to bdnews24.com.
