CU gets new VC

Professor Dr Iftakher Uddin Chowdhury of Sociology department of Chittagong University (CU) has been appointed as the university’s new vice-chancellor (VC).
Dr Chowdhury was serving as the Pro-Vice-chancellor (VC) of CU from May 30 in 2013.
In an education ministry confirming his appointment, Prof Dr Chowdhury has been made VC for a 4-year term from June 15 . The letter mentioned that he will resign from his current post as before the said date.
Dr Iftakher received his Master of Arts (MA) degree in Sociology from same department of CU in 1981 and joined the university in 1982. He served the varsity in various capacities in his 33 years services.
He will succeeded to Prof Anwarul Azim Arif whose term will expire on June 15 next.
