CU library should be user-friendly

Tuesday, 7 June 2022

University of Chittagong has been contributing to the country since its inception in 1966 by creating skilled and patriotic individuals. The university has a large library. It has a rich collection of 350,000 books and about 415 periodicals. Almost every student of CU depends entirely on the library for their academic activities. However, the library is losing its student-friendly environment day by day. Often, students face unexpected restrictions about entry to the library. As a result, their academic work, assignments, research, job preparation, etc are sadly being hampered.
In the past, the students were allowed to enter the library with their own books. But now it is prohibited. And the students cannot borrow books from the library. For getting any book, the students have to go to the in-charge of the library. Since the staff are not skilled enough, most of the time they take extra time to find the required books. This is why; our interest in reading books at the library is gradually decreasing.
