CU train loco master freed 3-hr after \\\'abduction\\\'

A loco master (driver) of a Chittagong University (CU) shuttle train, who was abducted allegedly by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists on Wednesday morning, was freed by his captors in Muradpur area in the port city, three hours after his abduction. The victim was identified as M Yousuf Chowdhury, 45, a loco master of a CU shuttle train. The driver was released from the city’s Muradpur Intersection at about 11:15am, said Abu Jafar M Omar Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Panchlaish Police Station. Quoting general students of CU, police said a group of activists of Chittagong University unit of BCL picked up Yousuf Chowdhury from Soloshohor No-2 Rail Gate around 7:45 am stopping the university-bound running train. Yousuf was abducted protesting assault on a BCL leader by a rival fraction on the CU campus recently, alleged the general students of the university, according to a news agency.
