Cuban lawmakers seek world support against US sanctions

HAVANA, Oct 14 (Xinhua): Cuban lawmakers yesterday requested their counterparts across the world to demand the US Congress and government lift the country's economic sanctions imposed on Cuba almost 50 years ago.
In a statement Monday, the parliament of Cuba said that in the last 16 consecutive years, the United Nations has approved resolutions against the US sanctions, but Washington "with its usual arrogance, has disclaimed the express mandate of the international community".
