Culprits involved in question paper leakage must be punished
Wednesday, 16 April 2014
It is good that the Dhaka Education Board has formed a high-powered probe committee to investigate into the English second paper question paper leakage of HSC examination. The report should be made public and the guilty must be punished so that we don't see repetition of such incidents in the future. The incident like question paper leakage occurs due to mismanagement of the Education Ministry and the common students suffer. It hampers their concentration.
Leakage of question papers is nothing new in our country and we had never heard or seen the guilty people being punished in the past. The law enforcing agency has already arrested three people from different areas for their alleged involvement in this incident. But the root cause of paper leakage should be detected and the main culprit should face severe punishment. Only arresting pawns won't solve the problem. We need to improve the education system of our country and match it with today's global standard as the young people have to compete globally. The pupils should be discouraged to adopt unfair means in the examinations. A social campaign against it is in order. We are glad that gradually coping in public examination is declining.
