Cultural affairs secy injured in road crash

Cultural Affairs Secretary Ranjit Kumar Biswas and two others were injured in a road accident at Boraigram upazila in Natore district on Friday. Highway police said a truck crashed into a jeep carrying Ranjit at Raja Kar Intersection on Bonpara-Hatikumrul road in the upazila around 12 noon, leaving the secretary, his bodyguard Rafiqul Islam and driver Dwin Mohammad injured. They were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where the condition of Ranjit was stated to be critical. Police seized the truck after a hot chase, but its driver managed to escape. The accident occurred when the cultural affairs secretary was going to Dhaka from Rajshahi, according to UNB.
