Curbing bad loans

Wednesday, 24 January 2018

THOUGH the policymakers of the country are well aware of the negative impact of default loans on the economy, they have apparently failed to curb those. The Finance Minister on Monday said that the non-performing loans had been bothering the country's banking sector.
We saw a huge amount of loans being disbursed to many enterprises in violation of banking regulations. The situation in the state-owned banks is worse than the private commercial banks.
It is a matter of great regret that few people who plundered bank money, have been brought to the book which led to further worsening of the situation. We hope that to protect the interest of the depositors, the authorities will take exemplary actions to punish the wilful loan defaulters.
