Customs official asked to give wealth statement in 7 days

The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) sent notices to a customs commissioner and his wife seeking wealth statements following the allegations of illegal wealth accumulation.
The Commission Wednesday served the notices asking them to submit their wealth statements to the ACC within seven working days, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told the reporters.
ACC deputy director Syed Iqbal Hossain sent the notices to accused customs commissioner M Hafizur Rahman and his wife Morsheda Jahan.  
Sources said the ACC found the allegation that the customs commissioner has a total of 14 bank accounts in different national and international banks, and also found the evidence of abnormal transaction by the bank accounts.
Besides, the customs commissioner has business in share market and is the owner of more than one flats in Dhanmondi area, and cars those are inconsistent with his income, said the ACC source.
