Customs recover 9.0kg gold from Dhaka, Ctg airports

Bangladesh Customs recovered nearly nine kilograms of gold bars from Dhaka and Chittagong international airports on Saturday.
The gold bars were found in an abandoned condition.
A team of Customs Intelligence (CI) at the Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong in a drive found 50 gold bars unattended at the toilet beside the arrival belt of the airport at around 11:00am.
CI sources said the unclaimed gold bars weigh 117 grams each and 5.84 kilograms in total are valued approximately at Tk 30 million.
On early Saturday, Dhaka Customs recovered three gold bars weighing one kilogram each abandoned in a trashcan at a toilet near the boarding bridge-9 of the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capital.
The gold bars valued at about Tk 15 million were recovered at around 01:30am on the day that were wrapped with scotch tape.
