Customs seize 22 gold bars at Sylhet airport

SYLHET, June 30: Customs officials arrested a man along with 22 gold bars weighing around 2.5kg at the Sylhet Osmani International Airport on Saturday morning. The arrestee is Sadikur Rahman Samu, 40, hailing from Provakarpur village in Jagannathpur upazila of Sunamganj district. A flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Dubai landed at the airport around 7:00am. On suspicion, customs officials challenged Sadikur and recovered the gold bars hidden in his shoes. — UNB
