Customs seize 48 gold bars at Ctg airport

CHITTAGONG, Mar 10: Customs today seized 48 pieces of gold bars worth around Tk 25 million at Shah Amanat International Airport. Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department (CIID) officials said they found the bars in three packets kept hidden under a passenger seat of an aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at around 12.30 PM. They searched the seats of the aircraft on secret information and recovered the bars. Six passengers were detained and being interrogated in connection with the incident, they said. A case has been registered with Patenga police station. The Biman flight from Jeddah of Saudi Arabia landed at the airport in the morning.
