Customs seizes 08 kg of gold at Ctg airport

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 16: Customs officials have seized gold bars weighing over eight kilograms from two flights at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram on Sunday.
Assistant Commissioner of the Airport Customs Mahbubur Rahman said acting on a tip-off, the officials searched a flight of the Regent Airlines and found 60 pieces of gold bars weighing 6.998 kilograms.
The flight from Bangkok landed at the airport in the morning. The passengers of Chattogram got off the flight before the raid. None was arrested in connection with the incident.
Earlier in the morning, the Customs officials seized 1.25 kilograms of gold bars from another flight, he said.
