Cyber crime and its solution
Tuesday, 17 February 2015
Now-a-days, with increasing number of facebook users there is also an alarming rise in incidents of online harassment. Recently BTRC took an initiative to stop this. It announced that if any one is found being harassed online, he/she can go to the nearest police station to file a general diary with the link and submit the copy of GD to BTRC. On receipt of the same, BTRC will identify that IP Address and will locate the concerned culprit. The procedure might appear a little hazardous, but I can say from my own experience that the system works and it works fast. It so happened that photograph of a gentleman I know very well, was stolen in the evening. BTRC was informed of the matter next morning and the culprit was caught by afternoon. The government and the BTRC should be appreciated. Promotional activities of this system should be geared up more so that more and more people could know about it.
