CZM, AIU ink deals on higher education in Malaysia

Deserving students passing from schools and colleges run by the Centre for Zakat Management (CZM), a social enterprise in Bangladesh, will be able to pursue higher education at a Malaysian university.
In this regard, CZM inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Albukhary International University (AIU) of Malaysia at a hotel in the capital on Thursday, a press release said.
Under the strategic partnership, deserving students would obtain facilities like full tuition fee waiver, free accommodation, and a monthly stipend.
The signing ceremony was attended by Niaz Rahim, chairman of CZM and managing director of Rahimafrooz Bangladesh; Dr Mohammad Ayub Miah, chief executive officer of CZM; Col (retd) Zakaria Hossain, head of corporate affairs; Monir Ibn Hafiz Bhuiyan, assistant general manager; Anowar Hosen, assistant general manager; and Misbahur Rahman Asim, manager of compliance at Rahimafrooz.
Representing AIU were Professor Dato Ir Dr Mohd Saleh Bin Jaafar, vice chancellor and president; and Professor Dr Hj Mohamad Abdullah Bin Hemdi, deputy vice chancellor (Academic).
