DAE sets winter crop cultivation targets in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, Dec 12: Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) has undertaken a comprehensive scheme to cultivate winter crops in Nilphamari district.
DAE sources said potato is to be cultivated on 23,400 hectares of land with 374,400 metric tonnes production target.
The target of vegetables cultivation is on 6,000 hectares of land and the production target is 90,000 metric tonnes.
Pepper will be cultivated on 2,600 hectares of land and the production target has been set at 3,900 metric tonnes.
Onion will be cultivated on 1,000 hectares of land with the production target of 6,000 metric tonnes.
Among other produces, mustard will be cultivated on 500 hectares of land and the production target has been set at 500 metric tonnes, Garlic on 600 hectares and production target is 3,600 metric tonnes, sweet potato production target is 12,600 metric tonnes from estimated 900 hectares of land, coriander on 185 hectares of land and production target is 231 metric tonnes, sesame on 100 hectares of land and production target is 100 metric tonnes and lentil cultivation target is on 100 hectares of land and its production target is 100 metric tones.
