DANIDA staff abducted in CHT: massive hunt on

BANDARBAN, June 26: Two staff members of the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), a donor agency, were abducted by armed miscreants from Kheburipara in Thanchhi Upazila Monday afternoon.Police said 10-12 masked gunmen picked up DANIDA project officer Shahid Suman and driver M Hanif at about 4:00 pm while the DANIDA official was holding a meeting with local NGO workers. The abductors then took them into a deep forest, some 90km off the district town, and left behind a letter, but the content of the letter could not be deciphered as it was written in Burmese language. —UNB
