Daughter-in-law allegedly kills elderly woman

GAIBANDHA, July 11 (UNB): An elderly woman was reportedly beaten to death allegedly by her daughter-in-law at Bamondanga Dakuatari in Sundarganj upazila early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Maksuda Begum, 44, wife of Abdul Hamid of the village.
Abdus Sobhan, officer-in-charge of Sundarganj Police Station, said Maksuda picked up a quarrel with his daughter-in-law Sharifa Begum over a trifling matter around 12 am.
At one stage, Sharifa hit Maksuda with a stick, leaving her injured.
She was taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared her dead in the dead of night.
