Ferry services in the Daulatdia-Paturia route in Padma River resumed on Monday morning after a 6-hour disruption due to dense fog. Mahiuddin Rasel, manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Aricha Ferry Ghat (terminal), Manikganj, said the ferry services as well as the plying of other watercraft came to a halt at 2:00am due to blurred visibility caused by dense fog. Eight ferries were kept anchored at Paturia while two ferries at Daulatdia of Rajbari district. Besides, four ferries with a large number of vehicles and passengers came to a halt in the middle of the Padma River since 2:00am. Passengers suffered as a good number of vehicles were kept waiting on both sides of the river for crossing. Ferry services at the important route resumed around 8:00am as fog started disappearing after the sunrise, according to a news agency.
