Daylong transport strike in Sylhet division July 8

SYLHET, June 30 (UNB): Sylhet Division unit of Bangladesh Road Transport Workers' Federation called Monday a dawn-to-dusk transport strike in four districts of the division on July 8 (Tuesday) to press home their three-point demand.
The demands are immediate arrest of the killers of driver Jahangir, tracing missing driver Sohel and protesting dismissal of 23 workers of Lafarge Surma Cement Company at Chhatak of Sunamganj.
President of the federation's Sylhet Division chapter freedom fighter Selim Ahmed Falik announced the strike from a meeting at Babna Point office in Dakkhin Surma.
The federation also threatened to enforce an indefinite transport strike if their demands are not met immediately.
The speakers urged all to work unitetly to make their programme a success.
