Days of \\\'illegal\\\' regime numbered: Khaleda

Urging the government to come out of its five-year illusion, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia Saturday night said the days of the new 'illegal' regime are numbered, reports UNB.
"The government is screaming at the top of its voice that it'll be there in office for five years. Start counting how many days you can remain there in power, let alone five years," she said.
Khaleda came up with the remarks while addressing a programme marking the joining of Kazi Zafar Ahmed-led Jatiya Party to the 18-party alliance at her Gulshan office.
Kazi Zafar Ahmed joined the BNP-led 18-party, turning the alliance into a 19-party one.
Kazi Zafar, also a former prime minister, joined the alliance by presenting a bouquet to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan office at around 8.43 pm Saturday night.
At the beginning of her speech, Khaleda welcomed and thanked Kazi Zafar Ahmed-led Jatiya Party for joining the 18-party. She said JP has taken the 'right decision at the right time. "From now on our alliance has turned into a 19-party one," she added.
Mentioning that on this day in 1975, Awami League had established a one-party rule, Baksal, annihilating democracy and banning all other political parties, Khaleda said the same day they extended their alliance.
