DB arrests three snatchers

The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested three suspects of a mugging incident in which they attempted to snatch Tk 450,000 from a cattle trader at Rampura in the capital.
The arrestees are: Ismail Hossain alias Ismail Sardar (37), Raihan alias Ismail Mollah (26), and Md Hasan Arfi (27).
The cattle trader, Nabi Hossain, was returning to his home at Badda in a pickup truck along with his associates after selling cows at Gabtoli cattle market in the city early Thursday.
Muggers followed him in a white mini truck and intercepted the pickup truck near Better Life Hospital at Rampura attempting to snatch money by making death threats.
However, locals and the on-duty DB police members from Motijheel zone nabbed the attackers hearing the victims' scream. The attackers made an attempt to flee leaving their mini truck behind, but failed.
Police said the arrestees are professional muggers and legal action was taken against them.
