DB nab BCL men for Rajshahi kidnapping

RAJSHAHI, June 22 (bdnews24.com): Detective police in Rajshahi City have arrested five Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders on charges of kidnapping and torturing the president of Rajshahi Medical College's Dental Surgeons' Association.
The arrested are BCL's RMC unit President Shampad Kumar Datta, Intern Doctors Associa-tion's President Shah Alam Siddique Lalon, BCL leaders Shandip Kumar Mitra, Nahidu-zzaman and Nirjhor Mandal Alay.
They were arrested from different parts of Rajshahi at around 10.00pm Monday.
Mahfuzur Rahman, deputy commissioner of the Detective Branch of Police, told the news agency Monday at around 4.30pm, Dr Rocky was kidnapped from the interns' hostel, taken to another students' hostel, tortured and was injected with drugs.
