DB releases six anti-quota movement coordinators

The Detective Branch of (DB) Police freed on Thursday six coordinators of the student movement against discrimination.
They (six coordinators) left the DB office at around 1:30 pm on a car.
The coordinators are: Md Nahid Islam, Md Sarjis Alam, Hasnat Abdullah, Md Abu Baker Majumder, Asif Mahmud and Nusrat Tabassum.
Earlier in the morning, the families of the coordinators were asked to come at the BD office for bringing back their sons and daughter to their respective houses.
The DB took the six coordinators into their custody on Friday and Saturday (July 26 and 27, 2024) for ensuring their safety and security.
Later the six coordinators at DB office announced withdrawal of their programme on July 28, 2024.
Badrul Islam, father of Md Nahid Islam, informed the media about the release of the six coordinators from the DB custody.
