DBBL emphasises low-cost deposits, retail business

Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd (DBBL) Managing Director Yeasin Ali advised branch managers to lay emphasis on low-cost deposits and increase retail business.
He was presiding over the managers' meeting at the bank's training centre in the city Wednesday.
DBBL branch managers from Dhaka, Narayanganj, Narsingdi, Gazipur, Tangail and Manikganj districts participated in the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the business performance of the bank for the last five months and focused on business strategy for the remaining period of the year keeping in mind the prevailing market and economic conditions.
Additional Managing Director AHM Nazmul Quadir, Deputy Managing Director (Operation) KS Tabrez, Deputy Managing Director (Administration) Abul Kashem Md Shirin, divisional heads and other senior executives of the head office of the bank took part in the discussion.
The managing director also instructed the managers to utilise the bank's centralised online facilities and ATM network in mobilising retail business.
The additional managing director asked the branch managers to develop relationship with clients and urged them to increase business volume, diversification of banking products and expand non-funded business for achieving the targets of 2008.
