DBBL holds managers' conference

The 2nd Managers' Conference-2009 of Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) was held at a city hotel recently.
DBBL executive committee (EC) Chairman Sayem Ahmed was present at the conference as the chief guest, says a press release.
The main objective of the conference was to review performance of the branches for the last four months of the current year.
In view of the present world economic scenario, vis-a-vis Bangladesh's strategy for facing the probable impact of the global recession on the country's economy, the branch managers were requested to point out their individual branch's programmes and strategies as to how they could achieve their business targets set for the year 2009.
All the 64 branch managers narrated their plans and pointed out their problems which needed be addressed by the head office of the bank for achieving their respective targets.
Mr Sayem Ahmed, in his address, stressed coordinated endeavours to keep pace with the fast-changing global scenario. He specifically mentioned that the services of DBBL should be raised to the world standard.
The EC chairman laid emphasis on strengthening the bottom-line of the bank by way of taking advantage of the technology-based services as well as the unique image of the bank.
Success in service industries like banking largely depends on strong and long-lasting relations with clientele, he added.
DBBL Managing Director Md Yeasin Ali urged the branch managers to follow the directives given by the EC chairman for achieving the targets.
The senior executives of the bank also spoke on the occasion.
