DBBL 'Smile-Brighter'programme begins in city

Under the 'Smile-Brighter' programme, Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) has organised a plastic surgery operation campaign for the poor cleft-lipped persons to bring back the endearing smile on their faces.
The four-day operation campaign started at Penta Star Hospital at Kalabagan in the city Monday, said a press release.
A plastic surgery team consisting of eight members headed by plastic surgeon Dr Sharif Hasan has been conducting the operations.
Deputy Managing Director of DBBL Abul Kashem Md Shirin and other senior executives of the bank visited the operation camp and inquired about the pre-operative cleft-lipped boys and girls at the hospital. In this connection, a discussion was held at the conference room of the hospital.
Among others, ANM Ata-e- Rabbi, general surgeon of BSMMU and DBBL Dhanmondi Branch Manager Jahangir Mullah were also present on the occasion.
