DBBL's half-yearly unaudited financial statements reviewed

The 39th meeting of the audit committee of the board of directors of Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) was held at the bank's head office in the city recently.
The committee reviewed the bank's half-yearly provisional and un-audited financial statements as of June 30, 2008, said a press release.
The meeting was presided over by Chairman of the audit committee of the board of directors Zaheed Hossain Khan. All the members of the committee including Independent Director Irshad Kamal Khan attended the meeting.
Prof Irshad Kamal Khan is the chairman of the Department of Economics in the University of Chittagong and the vice president of Bangladesh Economic Association (BEA).
After reviewing the financial statements, the committee recommended placing the unaudited financial statements before the board of directors for consideration. During the discussion, the audit committee advised the bank management to comply with all the rules and regulations in force meticulously and set an example of best corporate governance in the financial sector.
