DC bans coaching, private tutoring in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, June 15 (bdnews24.com): The district administration has imposed an embargo on coaching and private tutoring by government school teachers in the district.
Saiful Hasan, the deputy commissioner (DC) of Dinajpur, clamped the ban after complaints from guardians that the government school teachers were engaged in giving private tuition and running coaching centres in flagrant breach of the government employees` code of conduct.
The DC told bdnews24.com over 300 guardians of Dinajpur Zilla School and Dinajpur Govt Girls' High School students submitted written complaints asking for his intervention.
He said the guardians complained that teachers involved in private tutoring and running coaching centres did not take their classes properly.
Abu Raihan Md. Mijanur Rahman, headmaster of Dinajpur Zilla School, said on orders from the DC on June 4, he served notices the following day on all the teachers of his school asking them to immediately stop private tutoring.
