DCC ready to keep city clean during Eid days

The DCC has taken up different measures to keep the capital clean and hygienic during the celebration of Eid-ul-Azha.
"For a perfect waste management, the first measure we have taken is the leave cancellation of the officials and workers on the eve of Eid. We are promised to keep the city neat and clean" said chief waste management officer of DCC Captain Bipan Kumar Saha to the FE.
According to the DCC waste management office, a leaflet including DCC Mayor's message and contact numbers of ten COs (conservation officer) of ten zones, leaflets of the livestock and fisheries departments would be distributed through the 90 word councilors of the city corporation for increasing awareness among the city dwellers.
For the cattle markets, 6 pay-loaders, 2 tire-dodgers, 20 dumpers, 5 trailers, 2 prime movers and 7 water track (with pipe) would be delivered, said the DCC officials.
137 vehicles would be available during and before the Eid day with 800 trolleys.
"We will hold a meeting for the proper waste management with the PCSPs (primary collector service providers) next week" said Bipan Kumar.
Secretary of Conservation Inspector' Association and conservation inspector of zone-5(DCC) Md Shajahan told the FE that the main problem is illegal cattle markets.
"We have targets and working plans for the cattle-markets approved by the DCC.
DCC Mayor Sadek Hossain Khoka told the FE Saturday that tender formalities of 12 markets are at the final stage, 10 of which have already been given to the highest bidders and the rest two would be finalised soon.
He said "We have requested the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) authority for taking action against any illegal markets without DCC' approval".
"The DMP already have ensured us that stern actions will be taken against extortionists and for selling up illegal cattle markets" the Mayor added.
