DCCI greets PM for FP accolade

Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) on Thursday greeted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for being named as one of the world’s 100 leading global thinkers.
Foreign Policy (FP), a Washington-based prestigious magazine, named her in recognition of her outstanding contributions to addressing the issues of climate change.
“DCCI thinks that the accolade, given to the prime minister of Bangladesh along with other world leaders, demonstrates her sagacity and acumen as a forefront leader to champion the climate and environmental issues in the global arena,” said the business body in a statement issued on the day.
DCCI believes that the government’s inclusive planning strategy to mainstream climate issues has been recognised by this global achievement and it will enhance the positive image of Bangladesh in fighting against climate change, the statement added.
