DCCI inks MoU with BUP

Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) on the BUP campus in Mirpur Cantonment on Tuesday, said a press release.
DCCI President Shams Mahmud and Vice Chancellor of BUP Major General Ataul Hakim Sarwar Hasan signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.
Under the MoU, both the organisations will work for joint research as an initiative of industry-academia collaboration in the greater interest of economy. Both DCCI and BUP will jointly organise seminar, workshop, jobs fair and business conference. Different need-based courses, trainings will also be conducted mutually. According to the understanding, DCCI will assist in providing internship to BUP students as well.
The DCCI president said DCCI has always been in the forefront in dealing with the need, opportunities and challenges linked with skills development. The MoU signed is a milestone and will work for research and skill development that will usher in scope of creating innovative work force needed for the economic development of the country.
The BUP Vice Chancellor requested DCCI to put forward the criteria and need of skills that actually necessary for the industry so that academia can provide the curriculum according to the demand of the business sector. Professor of Bangabandhu Chair, BUP and eminent academician Professor Dr Syed Anwar Hossain hailed the MoU signed between DCCI and BUP.
Major Md Murshidul Azad, deputy registrar (Academic Section) moderated the programme.
