DCCI team attends 5th China - South Asian Business Forum in Kunming

A 32-member trade delegation of DCCI led by Senior Vice President M. Shahjahan Khan attended the 5th China-South Asian Business Forum at Lily Hall, Yunnan Convention Center, Kunming in China Saturday.
Deputy leader of the delegation and Director of DCCI M. A. Baten, Directors of DCCI Rafiqul Islam Khan, FCA, M. Bashir Ullah Bhuiyan, former Director Saiful Islam, Syed Delwar Hossain, Additional Secretary (Admn.), DCCI and Md. Shamsuddin Azad, Deputy Secretary (Training), DCCI were also present at the event.
DCCI Senior Vice President M. Shahjahan Khan presented a paper on Government's Stimulating Policies at the parallel session of the 5th China - South Asian Business Forum (CSABF) at Kunming.
He also highlighted SAARC - Bangladesh Trade and Bangladesh - China bilateral trade relations. He pointed out that Government of Bangladesh has been offering various stimulus packages to the foreign investors. Besides on financial, fiscal and policy areas, the government of Bangladesh also initiated major administrative reforms. The government also has undertaken a project on "One Household One Farm" to generate employment opportunities.

He mentioned that Bangladesh is going to celebrate its 50th year of independence (Golden Jubilee) in 2021. In 2005, Dhaka Chamber launched "Vision 2021 for Bangladesh" at a National Conference where the then President of Bangladesh was the chief guest. Policy researcher like Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) developed the vision-paper. Finally, the Government of Bangladesh has adopted its Vision 2021 and the main objective of it is to graduate Bangladesh out from the status of LDC into a Middle Income Country (MIC) by 2021

300 exhibitors from 7 countries participated at the event. After the opening session, dignitaries present at the event visited Bangladeshi booths as well as DCCI booth.
