Deal on Dhaka city transport ticketing system inked

A Technical Cooperation Agreement between Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA), Roads Division, Ministry of Communications, and Economic Relations Division (ERD), Ministry of Finance, was signed in the city Sunday, said a press release.
The aim of the deal is to support "Establishment of Clearing House for integrating transport ticketing system in Dhaka City Area".
Under the deal, a technical support will be given to develop an automatic fare collection system in terms of strategy development, Clearing House establishment, and improvement of operation of smart card fare collection.
It will also help in implementing further introduction of transport smart cards that were earlier introduced to BRTC bus routes and Bangladesh Railway routes with the help of JICA.
