Deal soon to send workers to Malaysia: Minister
Sunday, 28 June 2015
Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khandker Mosharraf Hossain on Sunday said an agreement for sending Bangladeshi workers to Malaysia through private recruiting agencies will be signed soon. A Malaysian delegation will visit Bangladesh to complete the process after Eid-ul-Fitr and the business-to-business (B-B) agreement will be signed at July end, the minister said while talking to reporters at his office. The B-B system should follow the government-to-government system and the Bangladesh private recruiting agencies will have to bring the demand for workers, said the minister. Those will be sent whose names are there in government database, he said adding, “If anyone wants to get enrolled in the government database, s/he can go through registration.” The minister said the Malaysian employer will bear the migration cost of workers. The workers who will go to Malaysia under B-B system will get jobs for three years which will be extended later, according to a news agency.
