Bangladesh is set to sign an agreement this month with Bahrain on avoidance of double taxation, aiming to boost the bilateral economic and business relations.
The Council of Advisers at its weekly meeting approved Saturday the proposal for ratification of the accord on avoidance of double taxation between Bangladesh and Bahrain, an official handout said.
Chaired by the Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed, the meeting was held at his office in the city.
"It was expected at the council meeting that the said agreement would be signed during the scheduled visit of Bahrain's State Minister for Foreign Affairs to Dhaka from June 21 to June 30," it mentioned.
Earlier, the Internal Resources Division of Bangladesh government placed the proposal to the council meeting for approval, official sources said.
Advisers to the caretaker government, secretaries of relevant ministries and the Chief Adviser's Press Secretary were present at the meeting.
