Death anniversary of Nazmul Alam

The third death anniversary of Nazmul Alam, a literary scholar and former director general of Bangladesh Betar, will be observed today (Saturday), said a press release.
He passed away on this day in 2008 at the age of 81.
Nazmul Alam retired from the position of director general of Radio Bangladesh in 1986.
During his lifetime Alam received many awards including Bangla Academy award for best stories in 1978.
In 1983 he won the Best Story Writer award of the Asia Week Magazine for Ekti Ochol Ani (A counterfeit coin).
