Death toll rises to four in Patuakhali trawler capsize

PATUAKHALI, Nov 1 (UNB): Body of baby girl, who went missing in a trawler capsize in Paira river near Khaserghat under Sadar Upazila Saturday night, was recovered Sunday raising the death toll in the mishap to four. The girl was identified as Sabiha, 14 months old.
Divers of fire service salvaged the trawler Saturday late night and local people found the body of the baby girl in the trawler Sunday morning.
Local people said a reserved trawler carrying 40-50 passengers from Barguna district sank in the river after evening when it was sailing back from Patuakhali.
Local people recovered bodies of Rijia Begum (55) and Rabbi (8) from under the water shortly after the mishap.
They also rescued seven missing passengers and sent them to Patuakhali General Hospital where doctors declared Rakib (3), dead.
