Debate contest starts in Ctg tomorrow

CHITTAGONG, Jan 13: Bangladesher Muktisangram and Muktijuddha Gabeshona Kendra Trust - Chittagong (The Research Centre of Bangladesh Freedom Struggle and Liberation War) will hold a two-day competition based on the history of the Liberation War at Chittagong District Shilpakala Academy in the city from January 15 to 16.
The competition will be held on six events that include inter-school debate, inter-school quiz, photography, poster, short film and idea generation.
Thirty-two schools from Chittagong and Cox's Bazar will take part in the competition. The competition has been designed to imbibe the young generation with the values, spirit and correct history of the War of Liberation of 1971.
Vice Chancellor of Premier University Professor Anupam Sen will inaugurate the contest while editor of the Daily Star Mahfuz Anam and TV personality Mustafa Monwar will address as chief guest and special guest respectively on the occasion.
Chairman of the Research Centre and freedom fighter Dr Mahfuzur Rahman said this today at a press conference held at Chittagong Press Club.
Secretary General of the Research Centre and freedom fighter Fahim Uddin Ahmed read out the written statement. He said that as many as 14 research books have so far been published by the research centre since its inception in 1980 under the guidance of Dr Mahfuzur Rahman.
