Decision on three more divs: PM

Prime Minister and Leader of the House Sheikh Hasina said on Wednesday her government had taken a decision to create three more administrative divisions in the country for further accelerating overall development in those areas. "We have decided to make three more (administrative) divisions side by side with the existing seven divisions for further accelerating development and ensure law and order situation. The divisions would be greater Faridpur, greater Mymensingh and greater Comilla," she said. "We have taken the decision to keep consistency with the population," she said adding that with the creation of new divisions, people's tendency to go to the capital would be reduced side by side with development of the communication system. The Prime Minister made the disclosure replying to a question from Jatiya Party lawmaker Kazi Feroz Rashid in the House during her question-answer session.     — BSS
