Decision to reduce toll on bridges this month: Shahjahan

Shipping Minister M Shahjahan Khan on Sunday said the decision to reduce increased toll on bridges in different roads and highways will come to light within this month.
Shahjahan Khan, also executive president of Bangladesh Sarak Paribahan Sramik Federation said this in a meeting with the leaders of the Federation, an apex body of all road transport workers' unions, held at Chittagong Port rest house, BSS reported.
Roads and Highway Department sources said that the new toll for 51 bridges, 45 ferry-ghats and three highways was reassessed after the approval of Toll Policy 2014 by the cabinet meeting on March 24 last year while the re-fixed tolls were gradually implemented from 11 January in 2015.
Later, the minister held a meeting with the officials of Chittagong Port Authority.
